Brands V/S Sub Brands ? | Technology explain
What is sub-brand? Most persons don't have any idea about what the sub-brand is. All of us know about OPPO but suddenly came another brand named Realme. What does this mean? Why the most popular brands come up with their other sub-brand with a different name.
We all know uses smartphones for many years, we mostly purchased it from the offline smartphone market. Buying the phone from the offline market will result in an increase in the rates of the handset which as a result didn't serve the value of its price. Then came a Chinese brand Xiaomi which only decides to serve the online market and offer the most affordable price anyone can get for that hardware. In the online market, all their expenses have broken down their distributor's margin have cut down, as a result, the people are getting the phone at much cheaper prices.
With the increase in the trend of the online market, many of the famous brands get into the race and launch their sub-brands with a different motive. Oppo always makes phones which are somewhat expensive as compared to Xiaomi, So they also decide to launch their subbrand with the name Realme. The main motive of the Realme is to cater to the budget section of the smartphone market. They are making phones with better hardware and cheaper rates. One plus is also the subbrand of Oppo which is mainly created to cater to the flagship market. The phone made by Oneplus includes the top of the line hardware that mainly caters large section of the premium budget segment.
There are some more examples like Huawei has launched a sub-brand name, Honor. Honor is also made in the intention to cater to the budget segment of the market. Although recently an incident had taken place with Huawei the handset made by Huawei and honor is also of superior quality.
More on the conclusion is that sub-brand is always made to cater to the separate section of the market. Like if Xiaomi is famous for its cheap and best smartphones in India if he launches a flagship smartphone for its user, then this creates confusion in the mind of users about their brand so they created a separate brand for the flagship market. Now I think you understand about the different subbrands. The subbrands are registered with different name although they were run by the same group of people
